Conditions of enrollment

Sailing a large vessel can be very relaxing, peaceful, demanding and exciting all at the same time. We have students from 16 to 70 that have completed the courses without any problems. If you have any doubt if you are physically able to experience sailing, please consult your physician and follow his/her advise.

Live a board sailing instruction covers every part of the cruising life. Each student will be required to cook, clean, stand watches, navigate and perform all that is necessary aboard a cruising vessel. Team work and the making of new friends is a very important part of sailing.

Deposit policy

A 25% deposit is required to reserve a course date. An additional 25% is due 90 days prior to class. The final 50% is due 30 days prior to class start date.

Cancellation and Change Policy

We understand that circumstances beyond their control can sometimes force students to change their plans. The Academy must know how many students will be attending each on-board class at least 30 days in advance. This enables us to provide each student with the proper accommodations and provisioning. Cancellations prior to 90 days before course start date will receive a full refund. Cancellations less the 90 days but more than 30 days will receive a full refund less $100 cancellation fee. Any cancellations within 30 days of the course start date will not receive a refund.

Safety is a priority at The Ocean Masters Sailing Academy . Cruising in different weather conditions is part of cruising experience However, we do reserve the right to modify courses when we believe the weather or other conditions affect the safety of the students or vessel. If a course is canceled by the school because of unsafe conditions your tuition can be applied to any course at any other time.

Illegal acts & drug use policy

If any student is found in the possession of, or under the influence of any illegal substance, they will be remove from the course and vessel at the nearest port with no refund or reimbursement. Any student who is involved in an illegal act during the course week will be immediately removed from the course and vessel at the nearest port with no refund or reimbursement..

SWIMMING & SNORKEL USE

The student agrees to assume all responsibility for any injury or death or other claim of any nature that may arise from swimming or use of snorkel apparatus during the course. They student further agrees to indemnify, and hold harmless, Ocean Masters Sailing Academy, the instructor and the vessel against any claims that may arise as aforementioned.
